About Me

I am a James Madison University junior Media Arts and Design major, concentrating in Interactive Design, and minoring in Creative Writing. I hold many wonderful positions on campus: Graphic Design Student Assistant with the Career & Academic Planning Department, Copy Editor of The Bluestone (JMU’s award winning yearbook), and Publicity Designer for WXJM (JMU’s student-run radio station). In addition to my role as Publicity Designer for WXJM-FM, I am also Co-Director for “Dame Theory” on WXJM, and the Co-Host of “Cosmic Sans.”  “Dame Theory” is WXJM’s longest running talk show. The show features a rotating panel of marginalized viewpoints discussing current events and politics from an intersectional feminist point of view. As a co-director, I select the topic for the week’s episode, distribute source material, coordinate the featured panelists, and participate in the on-air discussion. I also co-host a weekly music show through WXJM, that we have named, “Cosmic Sans.” During the show, my cohost and I are responsible for everything that is broadcasted over the airwaves (and online). We select the music, make announcements, play PSAs, manage the soundboard, and often throw some comedy into the mix.

Outside of school, I was the Marketing & Finance Intern for the Division of Gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins Hospital during the summer of 2017, and the summer of 2018. I also regularly do freelance graphic design work, mostly for on campus or local opportunities, but I would be happy to branch out from that as well. After graduating in May 2020, I hope to work as a graphic designer, web developer, in publicity, or ideally a combination of the three!

In my spare time I enjoy spending time outside especially hiking, going to art museums (especially if they have my hero Frida Kahlo), going to cute coffee shops, seeing live music, embroidering, being with my friends, and more!
