About Me

Hey, I’m Chrissy! I’ve been designing for 7+ years!

I graduated magna cum laude from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts & Design, with a concentration in Interactive Design. I also minored in Creative Writing. During my undergraduate studies I mastered digital design and development, user experience design, visual communication, and technical and creative writing.

I have professional experience as a graphic designer, copy editor, Co-Editor-in-Chief, marketer, and web developer. Currently I am a Graphic Designer on the LoopNet Marketing Advisory team at CoStar Group. Here, I work directly with our Marketing Advisors and our top-tier clients to design materials to market their commercial buildings for sale or lease.

Prior to my current role, I was a Graphic Designer & Brand Strategist at Rocket Pop Media. Here I designed a wide variety of print & digital materials, wrote marketing campaigns, and developed brands and re-brands.

Previously, I was the Director of Design & Content Strategy at Digital Minerva — a web development and marketing agency. In this role I oversaw the design and content of all projects from new websites, to social media campaigns, to various print materials.

Additionally, I have a strong background in copy editing/writing for print. I worked for four years at The Bluestone, an award-winning 300+ page print publication at James Madison University. Here, I started as a Copy Writer, worked up to Copy Editor, and finally Co-Editor-in-Chief. As Copy Editor I was responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all articles and copy in adherence to AP style – and managing a team of writers. As Co-Editor-in-Chief I was responsible for overseeing all elements of the publication, from design, photography, copy, marketing, deadlines, and managing a team of 30+ staffers and editors.

In addition to design and content, I also have a keen interest in the arts and previously had an original artwork, a digital portrait, on display at the Baltimore Museum of Art, in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. View it here. I was also an intern at the Madison Art Collection & Lisanby Museum during the first half of 2021.

I have mastered the art of content-driven web design with an attention to accessibility. A particularly applicable skill that I possess is the ability to create a unified and cohesive project successfully. With a keen eye and detail-oriented mindset, I am able to focus on the minutiae that truly further brand identity and make a surprising difference in a project’s visual communication and overall success. I can do so while balancing the bigger picture and ensuring a clear message.

Let’s get personal.

Who am I outside of work? I’m glad you asked.

I love spending time in nature, cooking or eating elaborate meals, doing crafts, yoga, and mostly hanging with loved ones! I love Indian food, making homemade pies, art museums, and Elton John. I live with my partner, and our cat, Tiramisu, in Richmond, VA.

And if you haven’t noticed: I am an avid fan of exclamation points and the oxford comma!
