Challenge
While working at Rocket Pop Media, our client Friends of the James River Park (FOJRP) came to us in need of a brand new site. Their previous site was outdated in design, content, and functionality. This new site needed a clean design with an easy user experience to cater to the site’s large and various user base. The new site also needed to showcase a balance of tourism and recreation-forward content while also presenting the nitty gritty details like river safety, drives to donate, park events, and non-profit information.
Solution
After creative briefs and meetings with FOJRP board members to discuss their needs, I redesigned the entire site. I also worked with our developer and copy writer to build the site and edit (and trim) the content respectively. Some of the new features I designed for the site were: highlighting the park’s recreation potential, creating an easy-to-use mobile-friendly park map, and re-imagining the informational pages to highlight each part of the park.
